Our

Company

BAR13 is a family-run company built on hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing things right. With a foundation in construction, we’ve taken on projects ranging from residential repairs to large-scale commercial builds, managing every step from planning to hands-on execution. Through BAR13 Consulting, we extend our expertise into engineering and project management, offering strategic solutions that keep operations efficient and aligned with client goals. Whether building, planning, or managing, we bring clarity, reliability, and purpose to every project we take on.

Beyond the job site, BAR13 Ranch reflects our roots in land and livestock. We raise quality cattle, grow wheat, and steward our resources with care and long-term vision. Together, the construction, consulting, and ranching sides of BAR13 reflect a shared commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and results that last. Across every part of our work, we’re proud to build things that matter—for our clients, our land, and our future.

Past Projects

In Pit Primary Conveyor System Relocation

YEAR: 2014

TIC: $ 96m

As Project Manager for the second phase of the In Pit Crusher Relocation, I led a cross-functional team to overcome major scheduling and logistical challenges after the 2013 Manefay Slide accelerated the timeline by six months. With only 20 days for installation and a 7-day shutdown window, we developed a modular design that enabled major components—including drive and tail stations, electrical rooms, and conveyor systems weighing up to 200,000 kips—to be built and dry-commissioned offsite. These were transported via SPMTs and installed ahead of schedule, with ore delivery beginning just six days into the shutdown. The project logged over 500,000 safe work hours, emphasizing safety, precision planning, and contractor collaboration despite a compressed schedule and complex site constraints.

Haul Road Rockfall Protection

YEAR: 2018

TIC: $ 20m

On one of the haul road in the rockfall potential exists due to mining activity above the haul road. Several innovative, industry-first solutions were explored to mitigate this hazard, including a large-scale barrier net system, and an L-Panel / Rock Guard assembly. Extensive design, and full-scale testing was performed of the systems by the project team, and ultimately the L-Panel system was selected to install, along with an MSE wall at the crest of the road, to increase travel width for haulage. The L-Panel system I designed for this project is an industry-first for this type of rockfall protection, designed to be installed while maintaining protection from rockfall hazards, in a series of campaigns, at the rate of 1,000 ft per day. My role in this project was Design Lead for the barrier net, L-panels and MSE walls, as well as Project Manager for the overall project.

East Waste Rock Reclamation Program

YEAR: 2015

TIC: $ 205m

The scope of this project includes re-grading the 1200 foot tall, multi-level east dumps at the Bingham Canyon Mine, from an angle-of-repose state, to a 2.5:1 relaxed slope angle. In addition, there will be 8M cubic yards of topsoil and mine salvaged non-reactive cover material placed on the re-graded slopes, with surface water control elements installed. My role in this project is Project Manager and Design Manager. As part of this and other reclamation projects at Bingham, I also sit on a Reclamation Working Group committee, as an SME (Subject Matter Expert).
